O Comediante Ray Romano é Ray Barone, um jornalista desportivo de sucesso, profundamente apaixonado pela mulher Debra (Patricia Heaton, Beethoven), que infelizmente tem que lidar com os pais e o irmão dele, que por acaso até vivem do outro lado da rua.
